Overview

StepGlobe ("the App") is a personal web application that visualizes your walking distance on a 3D globe. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

Data We Collect

  • Google account information (name, email address) for authentication
  • Daily step count and distance data from Google Health API
  • User-entered step counts (manual entries)
  • Profile information (height, timezone) entered by the user
  • Route settings (start location, direction) entered by the user

How We Use Your Data

  • Step and distance data from Google Health API is used solely to calculate and display your cumulative walking distance on the 3D globe
  • Profile data is used to estimate step distance when API distance data is unavailable
  • Your data is never sold or shared with third parties
  • Your data is never used for advertising purposes

Google Health API Data

The App accesses your Google Health fitness data (step counts and distance) through the Google Health API. This data is retrieved from your Google account and stored in our database solely for the purpose of displaying your progress in the App. We access only the minimum data necessary: daily step counts and distance totals.

Data Storage

Your data is stored in a secure PostgreSQL database (Neon). Authentication tokens are managed by Better Auth and are used only to access the Google Health API on your behalf.

Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting the app administrator. You can also revoke the App's access to your Google account at any time via your Google Account permissions page.

Contact

For questions about this privacy policy, please contact the app administrator.
